Author Visits
One of the most rewarding aspects of my work is helping children realise that they are all storytellers. Whether it be an oral retell or a full written narrative, every child deserves to be heard.
Each author visit I do is tailored to suit the age group and interests of the class. As a teacher, I know that sitting and listening for an hour can be challenging for young children. To that end, my sessions are lively, hands-on events interspersed with fun, movement and brain breaks. We explore how stories begin, play with words and rhythm and build our own stories together. I take students behind the scenes of how a book comes to life, from messy drafts and silly ideas to the final polished story. I read aloud from my books and include fun and interactive Q&A sessions. We may even do a guided drawing together!
My greatest goal is that students walk away feeling inspired, empowered, and excited to pick up a pencil, knowing that their ideas matter and their voices can shine.
Please don't hesitate to contact me should you wish to discuss your specific requirements.

Inspiring Young Minds to Dream, Write, and Create
One of my greatest joys as a children’s author is helping young minds discover the magic of storytelling and the power of their own imagination. During my author visits, I love to remind students that if they dream hard enough, they can achieve anything!
I wrote and drew my first picture book when I was five, and my first novel at eleven. They were both absolutely dreadful and never saw the light of day, but that didn’t matter! What mattered was the dream and the determination to keep going.
That’s the heart of my author sessions: showing children that no idea is too small, no dream too big, and no story too silly to write down. I walk students through the journey of creating a book, from that very first idea to holding a published copy in your hands. I also share some of the laugh-out-loud moments I’ve experienced along the way!
Together, we’ll even write a story, one that just might become a book of its own! Anything is possible when imagination and wonder come together. Whether I’m reading one of my published stories, brainstorming with the class, or answering questions about how books get made, my goal is to spark creativity and confidence in every child. In fact, don’t be surprised if your students race back to class begging for pen and paper…literally!
My books and presentations are ideal for primary school students, especially those from Pre-Primary to Year 4. I am an early childhood teacher and intersperse brain breaks and movement breaks throughout the session.
Let’s make some story magic together and get our children reading and writing!
